To all of my friends,

My family and I would like to thank you for such a wonderful holiday surprise. It left all of us feeling blessed and thankful beyond words.

I now know that everyone knew about the “Sexy Power Wagon II” except for me. I thought everyone was crazy on Christmas Eve at my house. My mom and dad were quizzing me about the Subaru Rally Team and about other car facts. As the morning progressed, Elaine (my sister) and Clay (my brother) were hustling me around the house getting me to play video games, practicing on the piano with my one good hand, checking my emails and visiting different Subaru sites on the Internet.

About 9:30, dad told me that Barry Waxman was going to bring my car to the house as it had been in the shop getting a new windshield. I did not think much of that, except that it was nice of Barry to do that on Christmas Eve. When I heard sirens down the street, my mom told me that it must be Santa taking his traditional neighborhood ride through Friendswood, and we should go out to see him. Then I heard the sexy growls of the Subaru’s (it sounded like they were all coming down the street to have an Auto-Rama in my front yard). As they drove by, I saw my car and as it came closer I noticed something attached to it-it was an awesome golf cart. When I first saw it, I thought somebody must be crazy to give me such a great gift. Then I thought, I can drive it!

Feeling proud I began to sing along with the “Marines’ Hymn” that was playing from the stereo system. My dad and I took it for a spin and everyone was cheering and clapping. I hadn’t driven in such a long time, and it felt so good to be able to drive again. I really wanted to do donuts!

It is hard to put in words how grateful my family and I are for all of the people that come together and do such amazing things for us. The caring, patriotism, love and generosity is overwhelming. I felt so proud when I drove down my street and saw all those people gathered to support me in my continuing journey.

Semper Fi,
